I'm wondering if anyone has ever thought about working in the field of criminal justice dealing with cyber criminals? As someone who is totally blind allways thought it would be a cool job. Let me know your thoughts.

That does sound interesting. I wonder what it would involve.

It is possible, but a lot more work than it sounds. :)

I have always felt that as a blind person we could be of great use when it comes to troubleshooting situations like this: figuring out who, in the case of cyber crime. After all, without the benefit of sight, most of us expend much processing power just to figure out what.
What that practically looks like, I don't know. The best crackers of cases often really enjoy the chase.
But enforcement against crimes like bank fraud, identity theft and cyber squatting is all still in its infancy. In many cases, the law is not yet on your side, mostly because lawmakers and judges / juries really don't understand the anatomy of the crimes themselves.
I'm personally interested to see how this develops. But to be in Private Investigator or anything similar, you have to be one hell of a troubleshooter.

I think it would be terribly interesting to see how well we could do since so many of us have learned to focus and concentrate on solving problems and issues step by step.

I think it would be a great idea...I've been thinking of being a cop because I want to prove others wrong...the only thing I want be able to do is patrol.

If anyone who is totally blind becomes a cop please let me know because I have a bachilor in criminology that I would like to use. Although I do think that being a cop isn't realistic if you are totally blind because you will be the easiest target to get shot at and may die.
